President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Middlemiss, P.Eng, is the President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of the Company. Prior to joining Wesdome, he was President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of St. Andrew Goldfields Ltd. ("SAS") until its acquisition by Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. in January 2016. Mr. Middlemiss joined SAS in July 2008 as General Manager and Vice President Operations, later assuming the role of Chief Operating Officer. He was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer in October 2013. He earned a B. Sc. in mining engineering at Queen's University in 1989 and worked for Inco Limited (now Vale Canada Limited) as Mine Design Engineer until 1995. At that time, he joined Barrick Gold Inc. at their Holt-McDermott Mine, where he held the position of Chief Mine Engineer. In 2002 he joined Foxpoint Resources (now Kirkland Lake Gold Inc.) where he was instrumental in overseeing the rehabilitation, development, and commencement of production at the Macassa Mine beginning as Engineering & Production Manager, and later as Mine Manager. Mr. Middlemiss is a native of Kirkland Lake, Ontario and has extensive experience in the mining of gold deposits in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Sawh, MBA, CPA, joined Wesdome as a director in 2009 until February 2016, and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in August 2015. Prior to joining Wesdome, Mr. Sawh was the Chief Financial Officer for Scorpio Mining Corporation from 2005 to 2015, and also served as Chief Financial Officer for Goldbelt Resources Ltd. and Crystallex International Corporation. Mr. Sawh is a Certified Professional Accountant, and holds an MBA in accounting from York University, a BSc degree in geology from Concordia University and has a graduate diploma in geology from McGill University. Mr. Sawh has over 16 years of accounting and auditing experience at Grant Thornton LLP, culminating in the position of principal, where he acted as lead supervisor for auditing teams of businesses with a concentration in publicly listed mining companies.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Ng, M.Eng, P.Eng, joined Wesdome as Chief Operating Officer in July 2013. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Ng was the Vice President of Claude Resources from 2006 - 2011, and was Chief Operating Officer at Queenston Mining Inc. from 2012 - 2014. He is a Professional Engineer with over 25 years’ experience, and received a Masters of Engineering degree from McGill University in 1993.
Chief Governance Officer & Corporate Secretary
Ms. Laxton has 20 years of corporate governance, corporate secretarial, and securities regulation experience with a focus on the mining sector in Canada, Europe, Russia and West Africa. Most recently she served as Corporate Secretary with Kirkland Lake Gold Inc., and prior to that was Chief Governance Officer and Corporate Secretary with Northern Gold Mining Inc., Governance Manager and Company Secretary with European Goldfields Ltd., and Governance Manager and Corporate Secretary with High River Gold Mines Ltd. She obtained an honours diploma from the Law Clerk Program at Seneca College, began working as a professional law clerk in multi-national law firms including Torys LLP and Smith Lyons LLP, and completed the Canadian Securities Course in 2000. Ms. Laxton is currently a member of the Education Committee of Governance Professionals of Canada.
Vice President, Exploration
Mr. Mannard, P.Geo, MScA, joined Wesdome as Vice President, Exploration in 1994. He is a Professional Geologist with over 30 years’ experience, and received an Applied Masters of Science degree from McGill University, where he was the recipient of the Stevenson Medal. Mr. Mannard is a fellow of the Society of Economic Geologists and Geological Association of Canada, as well as a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.
Vice President, Corporate Development
Mr. Laplante, P.Eng, joined Wesdome as Vice President, Corporate Development in February 2014. Prior to joining the Company, he held various positions at Nystar Langlois between October 2012 and January 2014 and held the position of Project Director at North American Palladium Ltd. From June 2010 - June 2012. Mr. Laplante brings over 25 years’ experience in mining operations with junior, intermediate and senior producers in Ontario and Quebec. He is a graduate of l’École Polytechnique de Montréal having graduated with a B.Sc. and MSc.A. in mining engineering in 1982 and 1984 respectively. He is a member of the Professional Engineers Ontario and l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Quebec.
LINDSAY CARPENTER DUNLOP
Vice President, Investor Relations
Ms. Dunlop joined the Company as Vice President, Investor Relations in August 2014. Previously, she served as Director of Investor Relations at Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. from November 2009 to August 2014. Ms. Dunlop has over ten years’ experience in investor relations and corporate communications for publically traded mining companies, and began her career at one of Canada’s longest established investor relations firms where she was responsible for the management and execution of investor relations programs for several Canadian junior mining and oil and gas companies.
Vice President, Quebec Operations
Marc-Andre is a professional mining engineer with over twenty years’ of experience, predominantly in underground gold mines. He was most recently Vice-President of Operations at St Andrew Goldfields Ltd., where he contributed to successfully putting three underground mines and one open pit mine into production. Prior to Marc-Andre's tenure at St Andrew's he held increasingly senior positions at Barrick Gold Corporation from 2001-2009, elevating to Mine Superintendent at the Williams Mine. Previous to his Barrick employment Marc-Andre worked extensively in Quebec and in New-Brunswick in progressive technical roles. Throughout his career Marc-Andre has dedicated himself to achieving safety, production, and costs targets. He is a graduate of Laval University in mining engineering and is a resident of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.
Vice President, Human Resources
Stacy is a human resources specialist with over 20 years’ experience in strategic leadership positions, with a focus on policy development, legal compliance, performance and change management. Most recently, Stacy held the position of Senior Director, Human Resources at St Andrew Goldfields, where she managed a team of five and led the integration process after the Company’s acquisition by Kirkland Lake Gold. Prior to that, Stacy held various senior positions at BMO, CIBC, Manulife, Sigma Systems and Stikeman Elliot developing and implementing strategic initiatives and operational HR programs. Stacy holds an honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens University.
