President & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Middlemiss, P.Eng, is the President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of the Company. Prior to joining Wesdome, he was President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of St. Andrew Goldfields Ltd. ("SAS") until its acquisition by Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. in January 2016. Mr. Middlemiss joined SAS in July 2008 as General Manager and Vice President Operations, later assuming the role of Chief Operating Officer. He was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer in October 2013. He earned a B. Sc. in mining engineering at Queen's University in 1989 and worked for Inco Limited (now Vale Canada Limited) as Mine Design Engineer until 1995. At that time, he joined Barrick Gold Inc. at their Holt-McDermott Mine, where he held the position of Chief Mine Engineer. In 2002 he joined Foxpoint Resources (now Kirkland Lake Gold Inc.) where he was instrumental in overseeing the rehabilitation, development, and commencement of production at the Macassa Mine beginning as Engineering & Production Manager, and later as Mine Manager. Mr. Middlemiss is a native of Kirkland Lake, Ontario and has extensive experience in the mining of gold deposits in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Au, CPA, CA has over 35 years’ of experience in financial management and reporting, mining operations, M&A, risk management, contract negotiation and strategy development. His previous roles include ten years as an Audit Manager at Ernst & Young, and eleven years at Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited in increasingly senior financial reporting roles. Most recently, he was Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Finance and Administration at St Andrew Goldfields Ltd. where he oversaw all aspects of the Company’s internal audit, regulatory compliance and reporting, P&L management, M&A and Treasury functions. Mr. Au has been instrumental in overseeing significant levels of equity and debt raises for public companies.
Chief Operating Officer
Marc-Andre is a professional mining engineer with over twenty years’ of experience, predominantly in underground gold mines. He was most recently Vice-President of Operations at St Andrew Goldfields Ltd., where he contributed to successfully putting three underground mines and one open pit mine into production. Prior to Marc-Andre's tenure at St Andrew's he held increasingly senior positions at Barrick Gold Corporation from 2001-2009, elevating to Mine Superintendent at the Williams Mine. Previous to his Barrick employment Marc-Andre worked extensively in Quebec and in New-Brunswick in progressive technical roles. Throughout his career Marc-Andre has dedicated himself to achieving safety, production, and costs targets. He is a graduate of Laval University in mining engineering and is a resident of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec.
Vice President, Exploration
Mr. Michaud, P.Geo., M.Sc. is a Professional Geologist with over 30 years’ of experience in domestic and international gold exploration and mining that includes a broad range of deposit types within North and South America, Africa, Asia and Europe. Michael was responsible for developing and implementing regional and mine-site exploration strategies to discover new deposits and to expand mineral resources and reserves around existing mines. Most recently Michael served as Iamgold’s Chief Geologist responsible for providing global geological support for IAMGOLD's exploration activities worldwide. Previously, Michael held roles of increasing responsibility for several exploration and mining companies including, Vice-President, Exploration for St Andrew Goldfields and was a Principal of SRK Consulting Inc. Mr. Michaud holds an honors B.Sc. from the University of Waterloo, and a M.Sc. from Lakehead University. Mr. Michaud is an executive council member of the Geological Association of Canada and involved with the APGO’s mentoring program.
Chief Governance Officer & Corporate Secretary
Ms. Laxton has 20 years of corporate governance, corporate secretarial, and securities regulation experience with a focus on the mining sector in Canada, Europe, Russia and West Africa. Most recently she served as Corporate Secretary with Kirkland Lake Gold Inc., and prior to that was Chief Governance Officer and Corporate Secretary with Northern Gold Mining Inc., Governance Manager and Company Secretary with European Goldfields Ltd., and Governance Manager and Corporate Secretary with High River Gold Mines Ltd. She obtained an honours diploma from the Law Clerk Program at Seneca College, began working as a professional law clerk in multi-national law firms including Torys LLP and Smith Lyons LLP, and completed the Canadian Securities Course in 2000. Ms. Laxton is currently a member of the Education Committee of Governance Professionals of Canada.
Lindsay Carpenter Dunlop
Vice President, Investor Relations
Ms. Dunlop joined the Company as Vice President, Investor Relations in August 2014. Previously, she served as Director of Investor Relations at Kirkland Lake Gold Inc. from November 2009 to August 2014. Ms. Dunlop has over ten years’ experience in investor relations and corporate communications for publically traded mining companies, and began her career at one of Canada’s longest established investor relations firms where she was responsible for the management and execution of investor relations programs for several Canadian junior mining and oil and gas companies.
Vice President, Human Resources
Stacy is a human resources specialist with over 20 years’ experience in strategic leadership positions, with a focus on policy development, legal compliance, performance and change management. Most recently, Stacy held the position of Senior Director, Human Resources at St Andrew Goldfields, where she managed a team of five and led the integration process after the Company’s acquisition by Kirkland Lake Gold. Prior to that, Stacy held various senior positions at BMO, CIBC, Manulife, Sigma Systems and Stikeman Elliot developing and implementing strategic initiatives and operational HR programs. Stacy holds an honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens University.
Vincent K. Ramcharan, M.Eng., P. Eng.
Director of Sustainability
Mr. Ramcharan has over 20 years’ progressive experience in mining and infrastructure projects in Canada and internationally. He has held multi-faceted, corporate and senior operational roles in mining, environment, stakeholder relations, sustainability and permitting. He has worked with Cliffs Natural Resources, International Minerals, SNC-Lavalin, and Cambior on various projects.
Most recently held the position of Director of Corporate Responsibility, External Affairs, and Sustainability at Richmont Mines Inc. Prior to Richmont’s acquisition by Alamos Gold in 2017, he was instrumental in the development and implementation of environment, community, sustainability strategies and corporate responsibility programs.
A Professional Engineer in Ontario, Mr. Ramcharan holds a Bachelor's Degree (Mining, Mineral Processing and Geology) from University of Guyana, a Master's Degree in Environment/Hydrogeology from the University of British Columbia, and is a Qualified Professional NI 43-101.
